Items are easy to get into good condition even with meager Repair skill. I wouldn't say Gun Jams or even Maintenence were really a major part of NV. Even if checks become difficult, FO4 just has me using Charisma to get out of pretty much everything, with the same outcome anyway no matter what dialogue choice I use. In fallout, I just get a yellow coloured line with an easy charisma check pretty much throughout the game. Back to dialogue, I used various different skills in dialogue early on in the game. But the Power Armour system and settlement building is very cool in FO4, but I just find it more tailored to the casual, shooter-console market. There are far more memorable themes and easter eggs, references in New Vegas. The vaults!įO4 to me kind of fell apart into some AAA shooter. Synths, American history - ''minutemen'': While I absolutely love android stuff, I'm not interested in that in a Fallout game, nor do I care about Minutemen. Obsidian attempted to steer the ship back onto it's original Lore path with the themes and story elements. None of the dialoge options do anything differently, it's all the same no matter what you try to role play - you just can't role play because you're too busy having your hand held by the game telling you how it should be played and having everything handed to you on a silver plate right from the start of the game. You've watching some other guy with a voice, not your own, a personality not your own, a son, apparently, and it just feels like I'm watching some extended trailer. Role play and use the dialogue choices to change the course of the game.įallout 4 you're just watching things play out from the outside, not involved at all. Feel a part of the faction you are with and do things accordingly. Look out for tons of references to other genres, stories, novels and movies from sci fi. You have to play all of New Vegas and let the stories unfold as YOU are involved in them. Just playing both games makes it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obvious to you once you've played them. New vegas has so much more depth and content. Personally, I think Fallout 4 is a lifeless empty piece of cinematic action drivel aimed at young kids, the same kids they are preying on for money at the moment.
However, when you get to grips with modifying these games, you can make either FO4 OR FO:NV into something that you like. Yeah, this comment does sound condescending, I apologise, but I think if you find mainenance tedious, then shooters are better tailored to your preferences.
What it is that you're looking for, AAA titles supply it for you in bucket loads.
